Every yearh on April 7th world health day is celebrated with a new topic highlighted each year, the idea is to make everyone knowledgeable on the subject so the overall occurance of the health condition is reduced.

This years topic for World Health day focuses on mothers and their children regarding their special needs as far as nutrition and healthcare go. World wide 1 out of every 12 children do not make it past their 5th birthday. Childbirthing is one of the top 3 causes of death for females of reporductive age, think of it as becoming pregnant could end your life. This occurance could be substantially reduced if only decent medical care were to make it to the far reaches of our globe. Sometimes the only medical care provided to these places is by physicians from developed countries donating their time and services to saving lives. 1 in 12 child deaths is something we should find unacceptable and we should do all we can to stop it, at least give the young children a decent shot at life.
