I was doing a basic search on medical studies and I came across
American University of Antigua College of Medicine and its affiliation with Manipal University/Kasturba Medical College International Center (KMCIC), India.
I found the collaboration very interesting so thought about sharing it. The students have the options of enrolling at either the Basic Science campus in Antigua or at the KMCIC Basic Science Campus in Manipal and later complete clinical Sciences at United States teaching hospitals.
Also, KMCIC is amongst the top ranking colleges in India. I visited their website and found that students from over 40 nations attend the college.
American University of Antigua College of Medicine has organized seminars regarding the course structure and the whole gamut of medical studies.

Hi,
I am applying for a few medical schools in the Caribbean and AUA is one of them. I wanted to know if someone can tell me the standard of education at AUA and the difference between studying in Antigua or Manipal (India). This information will be helpful as I am a bit confused and dont want to take a wrong step. Also to let you know that I am a canadian resident of Indian origin.

Hi,
I am applying for a few medical schools in India and Kasturba Medical College International Center (KMCIC), India, is one of them. Also to let you know that I am a US resident of Indian origin.
Now, let me answer your queries…
The standard of medical education that AUA provides is very much equal to the highest U.S medical education standards. AUA ensures high quality training to its students which help them qualify the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam.
And there is no difference between AUA or KMCIC. A degree from either of the colleges would help you the same.
I hope this helps....

It seems you know a lot about AUA. Do you know any US students doing Medical Science at AUA or Kasturba(India)? I would like to hear their experience like yours of the Carribean education system

Well dear, I do know quite a few students of this college however I don't know exactly if any of them have an account in this website. But what you can do to clear all your doubts is go for the educational seminar of this college, the details of which are mentioned in the website. The seminar would be a congregation of various aspiring medical students from all over the world along with the admission representatives from the college, faculty and students of the college too.
You can have a one to one word with these people to know more about the college and its education system.

AUA/KMCIC has only one Info Seminar scheduled in the near future:
New Yok City - Saturday, July 12, 2008 ->
http://www.auamed.org/openhouse/
If this isn't convenient for you, take a look at the website from time to time for updated info.

Hi everyone!
Experts say that Manipal University is a home to many top ranked institutions of India.
I wanted to know what the other streams are. And what ranking they hold in India.
