I'm pre-med - mid junior year. Chemistry is killing me! I just took my final for second semester gen chem and I think I need to re-enlist in the class...
I'm excellent at biology, did well in trig and college algebra - Ijust cannot master the evils that are chemistry!
Any advice? Anyone in the same boat?

i just went through that. my advice is to keep with it. the second time was mostly review for me and i realized that i can do it. just don't give up. g.chem is so much information and it's said to be one of the harder not for content but b/c of the vast amount. (at least that's what i was told). good luck

mmm .. ask me about chemistry!
i love chemistry.. but not all the times..
i guess it depends on the material .. sometimes u have to mamorize .. in other times understanding basiclly
i guess u should do the way volgirls0416 said..
1-revise the material more than once
2- if u r reading a chapter, highlight the most important points that u have to remmeber including defenifions..equations and in case of problem solving mainly the laws and concepts.. then when ur done of reading the material .. go quickly over what u've highlighted ..
3-try solving more than one example if the material was problem solving based
4- i highly recommand that u get some old examinations and quizez then believe it or not .. after solving two or 3 examples or by just taking alook at them ,u will know how to study !! 1000 time better than applying an chemistry expert advice.. u will feel what's important ur self
wish u best of look in ur course

I recieved my grades for the second semester of gen chem - got a C. I'm retaking it this fall along with the inro to organic. I hate into courses, but I think I ought to take it since I had such a hard time in gen chem - ya know, don't just jump into organic....

I used to have trouble with chem but here are some methods that really helped my boost my grade.
1. Take advantage of your professors office hours. If they seem like you're a nuissance then find another chem professor who would be willing to help.
2. Use tutoring if your school offers it or find someone in your class who will help you out
3. Go to study groups or organize one.
4. Ask questions!!! If you still don't understand ask to for more specifics.
Best of luck! I hope you find a method that works for you!
