hi medz
i wanted to ask u about the shifting dullness technique , .......
1- when we want to decide the most tympanic area & when moving the dull area should our finger be vertical on the axis i am moving on or it doesnt matter ??
2- when i want to decide percussing shall i go to the right or left side for the patient ......................and does it make any difference or not ... ??
well for question 1 I usually keep my hand vertical I find it easier to do so.
question 2- Well u start in midline and go either side depending on which side patient feels pain. If pain is on right side u start in the midline going to the left or if pain is on left u start with the midline and you go to the right side. in cases where there is no pain start with side furthest away from u this means u start by going to the left since we stand on the right side of the patient!
well yeah thanks for yr answer regarding the 2nd question i was told that u go from the middle to the left side to be aways from the liver which sometimes will be extending downword :!
